<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a three-dimensional coordinates acquisition system which is used by merging technologies of compound-eye stereo and single-eye stereo. <P>SOLUTION: The system has at least two cameras which are installed in a vehicle and are arranged with a predetermined installation distance and estimates and acquires the three-dimensional coordinates of a target around the vehicle using a plurality of images acquired by the at least two cameras. The system comprises a single-eye stereo processing section which estimates and calculates the three-dimensional coordinates of the target around the vehicle on the basis of two images acquired with time by one of the at least two cameras, a compound-eye processing section which estimates and calculates the three-dimensional coordinates of the target around the vehicle on the basis of two images acquired simultaneously by two of the at least two cameras, and a result integrating/switching means which is connected to the single-eye stereo processing section and the compound-eye stereo processing section, selects and integrates the three-dimensional coordinates of the target estimated and calculated by the processing sections by a predetermined standard, estimates them to be the three-dimensional coordinates of the target to be determined, and outputs the result. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
