<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen production device where, upon the stop of the system, while reducing deterioration in hydrogen separation performance caused by the condensation of moisture in the air on the micropores of a separation membrane, the release of a large quantity of remaining gas can be prevented, and to provide a method therefor. <P>SOLUTION: The hydrogen production device is equipped with: a separation membrane module (12) having a hydrogen separation membrane (121) of selectively separating hydrogen in a gaseous mixture; gaseous mixture feed means (221, 721) of feeding a gaseous mixture to the separation membrane module; exhaust means (773, 771) having exhaust lines (231, 251) of exhausting the separation membrane module; purge gas feed means (24a, 24b) of feeding purge gas for substituting the separation membrane module; and a control means, when the feed of the gaseous mixture to the separation membrane module is stopped, allowing the purge gas feed means to start the feed of purge gas, and substitutes the gas remaining in the separation membrane module therewith. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
