摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst layer having high output characteristics even with a low platinum catalyst amount, and to provide a membrane electrode conjugant using the layer, and a fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: The catalyst layer for the fuel cell is formed by including amorphous carbon into which a sulfonic group is introduced, the amorphous carbon into which the sulfonic group is introduced is removed, and in the amorphous carbon into which the sulfonic group is introduced, a chemical shift of a condensation aromatic carbon six-membered ring and a sulfonic group bonded condensation aromatic carbon six-membered ring are detected in a<SP>13</SP>C nuclear magnetic resonance spectrum, and at least a diffraction peak of (002) planes of C, in which a half-value width (2&theta;) in powder X-ray diffraction is 5-30&deg; is detected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
