<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display element capable of preventing the occurrence of irregularities of a seal gap. <P>SOLUTION: One glass substrate 11 out of a pair of glass substrates 11 and 12 is provided with a black mask 13. A seal 14 is provided so that the seal 14 is brought into contact with the black mask 14 and the glass substrate 11 and sides of the black mask 13 are on the inside in a breadthwise direction of the seal 14. The black mask 13 has all edges stored on the inside in the breadthwise direction of the seal 14 in accordance with a shape of the seal 14 and is so formed that the width of an overlap area of the black mask 13 and the seal 14 is uniform throughout an outer periphery of the black mask 13. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
