PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a configuration apparatus capable of configuring a programmable logic device surely and reliably. SOLUTION: A serial flash memory 402 stores a plurality of pieces of identical configuration data divided into pieces of block data. In a configuration control unit 401, one is selected from among the plurality of pieces of configuration data and the selected configuration data are set to a programmable logic device 400. When an error is detected in the block data then, the block data to be block data of other configuration data corresponding to the block data where an error has been detected which have no error are read, the block data where the error has been detected are replaced by the block data having no error, and the configuration data having no error are set to the programmable logic device.
