An optical power monitor comprising a pig-tail fiber and a GRIN lens opposed to each other with a spacing and each having an end face (inclined face) inclined with respect to the axis, having a low reflection lens and easily assemblable. The pig-tail fiber and the GRIN lens are fixed to respective sleeves adhered to each other and each having end faces in the axial direction. At least one of the pig-tail fiber and the GRIN lens has an axially circular and face at the end of its inclined face. The circular end face is positioned in the same plane as the axial end face of a first one of the sleeve. The axis of the first sleeve is kept vertical to the axial end face of the first sleeve. It can be prevented that the axial end face of the second one of the sleeves enters the first sleeve and comes into contact with the inner wall of the first sleeve. Therefore, the assembly man-hours needed to adjust their relative positions can be reduced, and the assembly yield can be improved. |
