PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position coordinate acquisition program capable of acquiring with ease and high accuracy the position coordinates of a desired point relevant to a reference line on graphic, in a tool for displaying the pattern layout data of a semiconductor integrated circuit or a circuit board on a screen. SOLUTION: To acquire the position coordinates on the screen on which graphic is displayed, the reference line forming the graphic is selected on the screen (S2). Relevant attributes indicating relevance to the reference line about the desired point are selected (S3) and the associated information needed depending on the relevant attributes are input (S5). A calculation procedure for the position coordinates matching the relevant information selected is selected (S6). In accordance with the calculation procedure selected, the position coordinates of the target point relevant to the reference line are acquired based on the associated information input.
