The invention concerns a method for recording digital data (ETK(C), SDKS, EDK(TK)) on a blank disc with a client device, the digital data being transmitted to the client device by a remote content server. The method includes the following steps performed on the client device: setting up (82) a secure authenticated channel (SAC) with the content server; receiving (84) the digital data (ETK(C), SDKS, EDK(TK)) transmitted by the content server; verifying (86) the existence of the secure authenticated channel (SAC) and authorizing the recording of the digital data (ETK(C), SDKS, EDK(TK)) received exclusively during the presence of the secure authenticated channel (SAC); and recording (88) on the blank disc the received digital data (ETK(C), SDKS, EDK(TK)). The invention also concerns a client device and a method for distributing digital data.
