<p>Even if a different input format of display data or a different output format of drive signal is used in a matrix display apparatus, a data signal line drive circuit having a conventional structure can be used. A signal format converter in a display control circuit comprises six FIFO memories (102R1-102Br) for writing input image signals of two systems to be applied to first and second input terminal groups (T1r-T2b); a selector (104) for selecting, among signals read from the FIFO memories, a signal to be supplied to a data signal line drive circuit via three output terminal groups (Y1-Y3); and a switching control part (106) for generating control signals (S1-S4) for the selector. Generating, based on an externally given operation mode signal (Sm), the control signals (S1-S4) and controlling the FIFO memories allow the format of an input image signal to be converted in accordance with an operation mode. The present invention is applicable to signal format converters for used with matrix display apparatuses.</p> |
