PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a black and white heat developable photosensitive material excellent in image tone, excellent further in surface film properties and giving high image quality. SOLUTION: The black and white heat developable photosensitive material has an image forming layer containing at least a photosensitive silver halide and a non-photosensitive organic silver salt and at least one non-photosensitive layer on at least one surface of a support, wherein at least one of the image forming layer and the non-photosensitive layer contains a color developing agent and a coupler. The non-photosensitive layer contains 3-60 mg/m<SP>2</SP>of a matting agent having an average particle diameter of≥6.0μm, and a surface of the black and white heat developable photosensitive material on the side having the non-photosensitive layer has 10-400 raised portions having a height of≥2.5μm per 1 mm<SP>2</SP>.
