PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rapidly search a channel by alternately searching the channel by analog broadcasting and digital broadcasting so as to mutually utilize search results. SOLUTION: A broadcast receiver capable of receiving the analog broadcasting and digital broadcasting includes: an analog broadcasting channel search function, a digital broadcasting channel search function, a registration function for registering the channel search results by the analog and digital broadcasting channel search functions, and a reference function for referring to the channel search results which are registered in searching the channel by the analog and digital broadcasting channel search functions. When the channel is searched, the channel search reference function is operated so as to acquire the channel search results (S2, S6). It is determined whether the channel of the analog broadcasting is searched (S3) or the channel of the digital broadcasting is searched (S7), based on the acquired channel search results.
