PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a functional liquid drop discharging method, which facilitates the adjustment, enables the suppression of stripe-like surface irregularities, the discharge without any lag of timing, and at the same time, an easy control when a fault occurs. SOLUTION: The method comprises the step of discharging a functional liquid drop from an ink jet unit containing a plurality of functional liquid drop discharge heads having many functional liquid drop discharge nozzles arranged at even intervals to an opening portion composed of separating portions provided in a reticular pattern or in a procession pattern. Further, the functional liquid drop discharging method comprises the step of orienting each functional liquid drop discharge head parallelly such that a plurality of functional liquid drop discharge nozzles are arranged in the given direction, and of allowing all the opening portions to carry out the discharge of the functional liquid drop with an independent functional liquid drop discharge head.
