PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of inspecting a fuel pump with a brushless motor capable of enhancing inspection accuracy at low rotating speed and low load. SOLUTION: This fuel pump 10 in which the brushless motor 12 is assembled is inspected by the following procedure. The delay of the rotation of a rotor 30 is inspected when a power supplied to the brushless motor 12 is forcibly commutated. By this, an increase in rotating resistance which occurs when foreign matters detectable only in the low rotating range of the brushless motor 12 are interposed is inspected. The period of the rotation of the rotor 30 by inertia force is detected by instantaneously cutting off the supply of power from a driver to the brushless motor 12.
