PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a duplication temporary operation method and a duplication system for a device, allowing sufficient function evaluation in continuous operation in new firmware, and allowing new firmware verification in a duplication configuration. SOLUTION: This duplication system has: the devices 1 connected by a LAN, respectively operating as an act system and a standby system; and a signal control part 2 connected to the devices 1 via a LAN 4. The inside of the device 1 has a boot means 1a starting an OS or a device in time of power-on; and memories 1b-1d as work areas, temporarily using transfer data, and each having a function for managing software or a database. The act-system device 1 and the standby-system device 1 have the software of a new version and an old version.
