PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric system of an engine automobile capable of preventing degradation of the lifetime of a battery, and suppressing the cost of a wire harness. SOLUTION: The electric system of the engine automobile is constituted so that the discharge current from a battery 30 and the discharge current from an electric double layer capacitor 11 flow into an engine starter 2 by the operation of an engine start switch 4. The electric double layer capacitor 11 is arranged closer to the engine starter 2 than to the battery 30, and the wire harness 12 with the discharge current flowing from the battery 30 is connected to power supply lines 9, 10 with the discharge current to the engine starter 2 flowing from the electric double layer capacitor 11 to the engine starter 2. When the engine starter 2 is started, the wire harness 12 is selected so that the discharge current from the battery 30 is smaller than the discharge current from the electric double layer capacitor 11.
