Novel piperidine derivatives and their use as monoamine neurotransmitter re-uptake inhibitors

Piperidine derivatives of formula (I) that are useful as monoamine neurotransmitter re-uptake inhibitors are disclosed, wherein the variables are as defined in the specification. Also disclosed is a use of these piperidine derivatives of formula (I) in the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment, prevention or alleviation of a disease or a disorder or a condition of a mammal, including a human, which disease, disorder or condition is responsive to inhibition of monoamine neurotransmitter re-uptake in the central nervous system.
