The disclosed guard (1) is used to prevent the entry of leaves and/or debris sufficiently, into the guttering or any other conduit for storm water. The guard (1) comprises of reasonably flexible metal mesh material, which is available in an improved roll form with unique diamond square like openings (10) of sufficient aperture, mainly smaller than the leaves and debris it is too keep out, that prevent the entry of refuse to the guttering and allow for water to flow freely and access the storm water conduit. The guard will allow leaves and debris to slide over it and fall to the ground without entering the gutter channel or conduit. The diamond square like openings (10) on the aperture of the mesh material are aligned in a uniform flat profile (11) on either side allowing either side of the mesh to be used in application. The guard (1) is laid along the length of guttering (3) or conduit and is placed either across the top thereof or within an area, which is located near the top thereof The guard will span at least the opening of the guttering or conduit.
