PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which does not stain a recording medium with toner even when the apparatus is made fast. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a development section 80 opposed to an image carrier 54 at a development position, a transfer section 58 opposed to the image carrier 54 at a transfer position, and a transfer guide member 10 controlling the attitude of the recording medium conveyed toward the transfer position. Then the transfer guide member 10 is equipped with, at a position opposed to the image carrier 54, an air current guide member 11, which guides an air current flowing from the development position to the transfer position along the image carrier 54 in a direction away from the image carrier 54.
