PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide improved data handling and improved workflow in a medical imaging field.

SOLUTION: The apparatus includes an imaging system with a user interface 10 and 30, and a hospital radiological information system (RIS) coupled to the imaging system such that the user interface 10 and 30 allow bidirectional data transfer between the imaging system and the hospital radiological information system RIS.
