PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for manufacturing a stator core for axial air gap type motor where core sheets are laminated and secured while being shifted at a predetermined interval. SOLUTION: The process for manufacturing a stator core for axial air gap type motor comprises a first punching step for punching, from a mother sheet 60, one side face (first slot face 25) of 1-n(n is a positive integer) core sheets in the circumferential direction by moving a first punch 360 at a predetermined interval through a first control means 700, and a second punching step for sequentially punching the other side face (second slot face 26) of 1-n(n is a positive integer) core sheets in the circumferential direction by moving a second punch 460 at a predetermined interval through a second drive means 700.
