VERTICAL CONVEYANCE APPARATUS FOR PLATE MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problem of a conventional conveyance apparatus wherein large-sized plate materials cannot be conveyed with high quality. SOLUTION: This conveyance apparatus comprises a belt conveyer 21 for conveying a plate glass 2 in a standing state by supporting its lower end; a fluid guide 8 for supporting the plate glass 2 in the state of noncontact with a structure by applying fluid pressure on the whole surface of the standing plate glass 2; and a controller 43 for controlling the fluid pressure. With this constitution, the plate glass 2 is set in a vertical state to support its surface in the state of noncontact by fluid. Consequently, the large-sized plate glass 2 can be stably conveyed while maintaining high quality of the surface of the plate glass 2. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
