PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phased array antenna for mobile satellite communication capable of improving the drop of a receiving level with a simple configuration. SOLUTION: A plurality of phase shifters are configured so as to scan synthesized beams of respective antenna element patches between a first scanning angle and a second scanning angle in an XZ plane of three-axis coordinates. Further, in the respective antenna element patches, a patch center line connecting each center point to a feeding point is arranged with a prescribed angle of inclination made with respect to an X axis, and otherwise, a distribution ratio of a two branch line and the length of two-branched line are given to each antenna element patch so that crossed polarization components to a change in the scanning angles of the synthesized beams may become minimum between the first scanning angle and the second scanning angle, increase at both sides of the minimum value and also have a U-shaped characteristic to be equal to or less than a requested standard level at the first and second scanning angles.
