PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an optical film by which contamination of a cellulose ester insoluble material in a film can be sufficiently prevented and an exchanging cycle of filter paper can be effectively prolonged and further to provide the optical film obtained by the method and a polarizing plate using the optical film. SOLUTION: Dope obtained by dissolving cellulose ester is filtered and then the optical film is manufactured by a solution flowing-out method using the dope. In the manufacturing method of the optical film, filtration is carried out by using the filter paper X having air permeability of≥10second/300cc and≤15second/300cc and the filter paper Y having air permeability of≥5second/300cc and <10second/300cc.
