<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a merging joint which can suppress the backflow of wastewater upstream of a horizontal drainage main, even on the frequent occurrence of the case where the wastewater is simultaneously discharged from a plurality of drainage risers and discharged into the horizontal drainage main, and which can prevent, for example, the emission of a malodor, caused by the seal destruction of a trap, by suppressing the rise of in-pipe pressure. <P>SOLUTION: This merging joint, which connects a horizontal drainage branch pipe P2 and the horizontal drainage main P1 arranged in the state of crossing the branch pipe P2, comprises a horizontal straight pipe section 1, a vertical straight pipe section 2, and a communication pipe section 3.
