A camera includes: imaging means for capturing an image of an object and generating image data; recognition means for subjecting the image data to a face recognition process and generating distribution information indicating a distribution of main objects in the image of the image data; and decision means for deciding an insert position for inserting the an insert image into the image data according to at least one of the distribution information and contrast information. Thus, it is possible to insert an insert image into an appropriate position of the image data.
