PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a taping method and a taping device for an item to be stored for efficiently thermocompression-bonding a cover tape to a carrier tape so that cover tape peeling strength becomes uniform as much as possible. SOLUTION: An item 5 to be stored is stored in a storage pocket 14 of a carrier tape 10 having a series of storage pockets 14 and bars 16 alternatively arranged, a cover tape 20 is overlaid on the carrier tape 10 covering the pockets 14 and the cover tape 20 is pressed a plurality of times by a thermocompression iron 30 relative to adjoining parts 15, 17 along the pockets 14 and the bars 16 of the tape 10. The part 15 adjoining the pockets 14 of the tape 10 is less frequently pressed than the part 17 adjoining the bars 16 of the tape 10 when the tape 20 is pressed by the iron 30.
