PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electro-optical device that causes less image unevenness due to short circuiting etc. when a pair of substrates are joined together via an anisotropic conductive sealing material, and to provide an electronic apparatus that includes such an electro-optical device. SOLUTION: In the electro-optical device, including the first substrate and the second substrate placed opposite to each other via the anisotropic conductive sealing material, an electro-optic material interposed between the first substrate and the second substrate, and the electronic apparatus including the electro-optical device, the first substrate is equipped with first electric wiring and the second substrate is equipped with a second electric wiring, the anisotropic conductive sealing material contains an electrical insulating adhesive and conductive particles, and a conductive member is formed ununiformly on the periphery of the conductive particles; and further, the first electric wiring and the second electric wiring are electrically connected to each other, by pressurizing them so as to make the conductive particles have≥5% and <20% values of moduli of compressive deformation.
