PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve accuracy in automatically adjusting ventilation by reducing frictional resistance in sliding a ventilation plate of an automatic ventilating device. SOLUTION: The longitudinal direction of a device main body 11 of this ventilating device 10 is vertically directed. A manual ventilating mechanism 20 including an operation plate 21 for opening and closing a ventilating hole 12a and an operation knob 22 is disposed inside of the main body 11, and a first ventilating plate 31 having a first ventilating hole 31a and vertically extending, is disposed on an outdoor side of the mechanism 20. An opening of the first ventilating hole 31a is adjusted by a second ventilating plate 32 vertically slidable to the first ventilating plate 31. The second ventilating plate 32 is energized downward by a first spring 33 made of shape memory alloy, and the second ventilating plate 32 is energized upward by a second spring 34.
