Q-SWITCH LASER AND Q-SWITCH OSCILLATION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow Q-switch oscillation with high efficiency by using a mechanical chopper. SOLUTION: A Q-switch laser 10 comprises: a laser medium 20; a pumping means 12 for exciting the laser medium 20; a coupler means 22 for outputting a laser beam 28 from the laser medium 20; and a mechanical chopper 26 that is arranged between the laser medium 20 and the coupler means 22 to form an inverse distribution for the time of about the spontaneous lifetime tspof the laser oscillation level of the laser medium 20. The Q-switch laser is suited for oscillating the laser performing CW oscillation having a low energy density in a Q-switch mode. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
