PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of image forming in which good cleaning performance is maintained even in long-term use, image deletion hardly occurs, and good line reproducibility and high toner transferability are ensured. SOLUTION: The method of image forming includes an electrification step, an exposure step, a development step and a transfer step. In the method, use is made of a toner containing toner particles, the toner particles containing a binder resin and a colorant, and inorganic micropowder, and having an average circularity of 0.925-0.995, and use is made of a photoreceptor provided at its surface with multiple mutually independent concave portions. The average short-axis diameter of openings of the concave portions, Lpc, satisfies the relationship Dg<Lpc<Dt (Dt is the weight average particle diameter of the toner, and Dg is the maximum number average particle diameter among the respective number average particle diameters of one or two or more inorganic micropowders constructing the inorganic micropowder).
