PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent pressure decrease in a housing including a space to a thrust side from a retaining member caused by relative rotation of a shaft and the housing and to discharge remaining air in viscose fluid in the housing. SOLUTION: The bearing unit consists of a radial bearing 33 for supporting the shaft 31 in a circumferential direction, a thrust bearing 46 for supporting an end of the shaft in a thrust direction, a passage forming member 34 provided outside of the radial bearing and the thrust bearing, a housing 37, formed so as to seal and store the passage forming member, having a shaft insertion hole 41 where the shaft is inserted, a retaining member 48 for the shaft from the radial bearing which is provided for the radial bearing at its end side where the thrust bearing is provided, the viscose fluid 42 filled in the housing and a communication passage 50, formed between the passage forming member and the radial bearing, for connecting the end side and the other end side of the shaft protruding from the radial bearing in the thrust direction.
