KEY PAD ASSEMBLY FOR PORTABLE TERMINAL

A keypad assembly for a portable terminal is provided to reduce an overall volume of the portable terminal by directly inserting a metal dome into a keypad sheet. A keypad assembly(10) for performing a key-action process includes a main board(20), plural metal domes(21), and a keypad sheet(11). The metal domes are arranged on the main board and serve as contact points for manipulating corresponding key buttons. The keypad sheet is laminated on the main board. The keypad sheet includes plural auxiliary metal domes(12) which are arranged at a bottom portion and press corresponding metal domes on the main board. A portion of the auxiliary metal dome is insert-molded into the keypad sheet.
