A quartz glass made burner characterized by having multibranched tube type quartz glass made nozzle (3) consisting of multiple tubules housed in quartz glass made outer pipe (1) and by having a diameter decrease of the outer pipe such that the inside diameter of distal end of the outer pipe ranges from 0.65 to 0.90-fold of the inside diameter of straight trunk portion of the outer tube. The nozzle (3) is so structured as to have the region from tubule branching part (2) to the distal end thereof housed within the outer pipe (1). The length of outer pipe portion housing the tubules is at least 1.5-fold of the inside diameter of distal end of the outer pipe. Thus, there is provided a quartz glass made burner that by uniforming the flow velocity distribution of gas fed from the outer pipe at the distal end portion of the burner, realizes enhancing of glass microparticle deposition efficiency as well as enhancing of firepower at the time of flameworking. |
