PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-strength aluminum alloy sheet which can provide such a cap of a wide-mouthed bottle can as to have superior formability, strength and openability, by limiting the design of the material and the metallographic structure of the material. SOLUTION: This aluminum alloy sheet comprises 1.0-2.5% Mg (wt.%, hereinafter the same), 0.01-1.0% Mn, 0.01-0.5% Si, 0.01-0.69% Fe, while controlling the total amount of Mg and Mn into 1.5 to 2.5% and the total amount of Si and Fe into 0.2 to 0.7%, and the balance aluminum with unavoidable impurities. The original aluminum alloy sheet has a tensile strength of 200 to 270 MPa, and a yield strength of 170 to 240 MPa, an elongation of 3 to 8%. A baked sheet has a tensile strength of 200 to 270 MPa, a yield strength of 160 to 230 MPa, and an elongation of 5 to 10%. The aluminum alloy sheet also contains intermetallic compounds with a size of 0.5μm or larger, which are distributed in a density of 3,000 to 10,000 pieces per square millimeter, and occupy 0.5 to 3.0% of the total area. The aluminum alloy sheet also contains intermetallic compounds with a size of 3μm or larger, which are distributed in a density of 300 to 1,500 pieces per square millimeter.
