PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a management method of a digestion tank operation situation which easily and quickly measures the concentration of a volatile organic acid of operation management indicator of the digestion tank (hereinafter referred to as the volatile organic acid) so that the digestion tank operation situation can be grasped on a real-time basis. SOLUTION: The alkali concentration of a digestion liquid gathered from an anaerobic digestion tank is measured, and the concentration of the volatile organic acid is measured from this measured value, so that the operation condition of the digestion tank in an anaerobic digestion process is controlled. The concentration of the volatile organic acid can be measured by a linear regression formula showing the relationship of the alkalinity and the concentration of the volatile organic acid.
