<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automobile having a drive line for smoothly reconnecting between a two-wheel drive mode and a four-wheel drive mode while the automobile is driven, and a method for switching its torque transmission path. <P>SOLUTION: A control means 31 separates a propeller shaft 23 from both an engine 11 and rear wheels 14, 15 in the two-wheel drive mode. When the two-wheel drive mode is switched to the four-wheel drive mode while the automobile is driven, first an electric motor 28 is driven so that the rotation of the propeller shaft 23 rises to a predetermined speed. Thereafter, a first clutch means 22 and releasable torque transmission means 27, 41, 44, 50 are operated so that an auxiliary drive line having differentials 25, 40, 42 and the propeller shaft 23 is connected to the engine 11 and the rear wheels 14, 15. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
