PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver and a receiving system capable of reducing the current consumption of a signal receiver. SOLUTION: This signal receiver comprises: a filter for making a signal of a specified frequency pass through; a demodulation circuit for demodulating the signal passing through the filter; an analyzing means for analyzing a signal of the demodulation circuit; a smoothing circuit for smoothing the signal passing through the filter; a comparing means for comparing an output signal of the smoothing circuit with reference voltage; and a power supply control means for starting power supply to the demodulation circuit when the output signal of the smoothing circuit is equal to or greater than the reference voltage and stopping the power supply to the demodulation circuit when the output signal of the smoothing circuit is less than the reference voltage.
