PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight shift knob which has the durability to withstand the use under a severe service condition for a long period that the shift knob is constantly and repeatedly held, pushed, pulled or twisted through a series of operations in the travel of a vehicle or the like, has the mechanically and environmentally high durability performance against temperature/humidity, and constantly gives a favorable touch to a driver or the like without any deformation or small breakage when the shift knob is held, or generation of abnormal noise associated therewith. SOLUTION: The shift knob comprises an insert 4 formed of a hard resin, and a skin part 2 formed of a flexible resin covering the same. The insert 4 is an assembly body in which a first portion having a part of a surface part covered by the skin part 2 and a second portion having at least a part of other surface part are assembled with each other, and a continuous surface is formed at a butted portion of the first and second portions.
