<p>The hinge holds the arms of spectacle frames in either the closed or the open position. It has one side (10) fixed to the arm (2) and the other to the frame (1). The arm side carries a cam (9), fixed to the hinge pin (3), and provided with two recesses (9b, 9c) in its circumference. The frame side has a spring loaded plunger (7, 8) the rounded head of this engaging in the recesses. The housing (5) for the spring is sunk into the body of the spectacle frame, a cap (5a) limiting its course. The arm is held, depending on which recess is engaged.</p> |
