PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a situation in which paper comes into contact with a wall surface or the like and is damaged when unwinding the paper wound round a take-up drum. SOLUTION: An image recorder includes: a housing space part S in which the paper P is temporarily housed; a drum 20 which is arranged in the housing space part S and to which the paper P is temporarily taken up; a press-contacting roller 21 which press-contacts the paper P; a first control means 44a which normally rotates the drum 20, so that the press-contacting roller 21 press-contacts the paper P; a second control means 44b which moves the drum 20 to which the paper P is press-contacted downward; a sagging detection sensor 22 which detects whether the sagging of the paper P is equal to or above a prescribed level when the drum 20 is positioned downward; a third control means 44c which rotates the drum 20 by prescribed amount every time the sagging equal to or above the prescribed level is detected; and a sagging amount arithmetic part 46a which arithmetically calculates the first sagging amount of the paper P caused after the final rotation of the drum 20 by the third control means 44c. After the sagging amount arithmetically calculated by the sagging amount arithmetic part 46a is eliminated, unwinding the paper is started. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
