<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handrail which is easy to be used as an auxiliary means for supporting or transferring one's body and excellent in a designing property and functionality. <P>SOLUTION: The curved handrail is fitted to a wall face and formed of a substantially S-formed bar member 1 in a plan view and a fixing means 2 fixing the bar member 1 to a wall face W. A shelf 3 can be placed on the fixing means 22, 23 interposed between a bulged part 11 separated from the wall face W of the bar member 1 and the wall face W.
