<p>A detection method of lymph node metastasis from gastric carcinoma is provided to detect cancer cells spread from gastric carcinoma or carcinoma of similar cell origin organs such as esophagus, pancreas and intestine, and discriminate lymph node, having metastasis from gastric carcinoma, from negative lymph node. A detection method of lymph node metastasis from gastric carcinoma comprises the steps of: (a) obtaining a biological sample from a patient; (b) measuring the marker level of the sample; and (c) determining whether the marker level is in excess of the predetermined cut-off level, wherein the marker is a gene or a protein. The method further comprises a step of detecting genes expressed consistently and has sensitivity of 80% or more and specificity of 70% or more. The method is performed by amplifying the RNA extracted from the sample with RT-PCR(reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction) in a microarray.</p> |
