PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planographic printing plate employing a silver complex salt diffusion transfer method, the plate improved in water retaining property while maintaining high plate wear, and particularly, improved in a fill-in phenomenon of dots. SOLUTION: The planographic printing material includes at least a silver halide emulsion layer and a physical development nucleus layer successively layered on a support and employs a silver complex diffusion transfer method, wherein the physical development nucleus layer or at least one layer adjacent thereto contains gum arabic having an ash content of 1 mass% or less.
