<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera monitoring apparatus which displays a plurality of video images without deteriorating image quality when displaying the video images on a monitor screen having a screen size less than a double of an input image size. <P>SOLUTION: The camera monitoring apparatus comprises: an A/D conversion unit 31 which digitizes image signals inputted from monitor cameras 10, respectively to generate digital image data 51; an image data selection switching unit 32 which designates one of the digital image data 51 as non-compressed data based on a user operation; a data compression processing unit 34 which generates compressed data 52 by performing data compression processing, on the digital image data 51 excepting for the non-compression data, to decrease a resolution without changing an aspect ratio; and an image composition processing unit 35 for generating synthetic image data 53 by performing composition processing to dispose image regions of compressed data along adjacent two sides in image regions of non-compression data without overlapping of the image regions of the non-compression data and the compressed data 52. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
