<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a centrifugal compressor which suppresses the surging caused by a stall cell occurring in the vicinity of a vaneless diffuser. <P>SOLUTION: When a stall cell having locally high pressure in an operating region near a surge limit is formed in the vicinity of a vaneless diffuser plate 9, the stall cell passes through a plurality of bypass holes 9A formed on the entire circumference of the vaneless diffuser plate 9 and flows out to a scroll flow passage 3A.
