PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To grasp color and residual quantity of inks set in a printer for every color without depending on the performance of an information processor.

SOLUTION: The printer 100 acquires for every color, ink color data whereby the color of ink set in the printer 100 is expressed on a display of a host computer, and controls a communication I/F 108 so as to transmit the acquired ink color data to the host computer. The host computer transmits an ink color data request of requesting transmission of the ink color data to the printer. On the basis of the ink color data transmitted from the printer 100 in accordance with the ink color data request, an ink color table is formed which stores therein color data of the number of colors of the inks set in the printer 100. The host computer displays an image which shows the color of ink set in the printer 100 onto the display on the basis of the formed ink color table.
