DECODING METHOD, DECODING PROGRAM, AND DECODER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decode compressed and coded image data having the quantized bit number of a pixel data more 8 bits and less 16 bits.

SOLUTION: First compressed coding data are separated into a first section with LSB side 8-bit pixel data constituting the quantitized bit number of the pixel data more 8 bits and less 16 bits, and a second section composed of the MSB side pixel data excepting the first section. First compressed coding data are conducted as reversible to the first section. Second compressed coding data are conducted as reversible to the second section comprising second compressed coding different from the first compressed coding. The compressed and coded data are obtained from the first and the second compressed coding data. The first and second compressed coding data are decoded respectively to compressed coding data consisting of such a first compressed coding data and a second compressed coding data. A first decoding data decoding the first compressed coding data and a second decoding data making the first decoding data decoding the second compressed coding data and the pixel data correspond are unified and output.
