PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily and certainly removing organic materials sticking to a rotary valve. SOLUTION: The method for cleaning a rotary valve is employed for removing the organic materials stuck to the rotary valve, where the rotor is set to rotate at 1 to 5 rpm and an organic solvent is fed to the rotary valve so as to meet the following equation (1). Q≥V×n×r (1); wherein Q indicates the feed rate (liter/minute) of an organic solvent; V indicates the volume (liter) of one pocket of a rotary valve; n indicates the number of vanes of a rotor; and r indicates the rotational speed (rpm) of a rotor.
