PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a roof member and a roof structure forming a flat ceiling surface easily, excelling in appearance of a ceiling interior surface and heat insulating and sound insulating effect and further in cut-off performance under construction, and enhancing joint strength between a fastening plate and the roof member. SOLUTION: The roof member formed of a metal plate comprises a flat section and a pair of connection ends at both ends. The connection ends are formed as a female type and a male type comprising connecting end support parts each projected upward at one end of the flat section and continuously extended in a longitudinal direction, and flat portions having flat surfaces each formed continuously with the upper end of the connection end support part and extended in the longitudinal direction of the flat section almost parallel with the flat section at least on the upper face. The roof member is constituted in such a shape that the female type is connectable to the male type of the other roof member and that the male type is connectable to the female type of the other roof member in connecting the connection ends and the other roof members to each other. The roof structure formed using these roof members have excellent heat insulating property, rain sound reducing property and dew condensation resistance besides excellent cut-off performance under construction.
