Dyeing synthetic fibres, e.g. of polyamides, polyesters, polyolefines, spandex (polyurethane) or acrylic polymers or copolymers, from a dyebath containing 2-furaldehyde. Suitable dyes are direct, disperse, acid, or neutral premetallised, vat and sulphur dyes. Dyeing may be carried out at temperatures below the boil, e.g. 100-180 DEG F. under conditions suitable for the dyestuff used. Many examples are given. |
